UK Car Insurer Says New Car Technology Could Soon Make Car Insurance Cheaper

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 23, 2011 – One of the UK's leading online car insurance comparison websites and provider of specialist motor insurance, Car Insurance TV, has predicted that the rapid advancement of new car technologies such as crash safety devices and self managed control systems that avoid cars crashing, will eventually see certain types of car insurance cover disappear!

Writing on the company's website Car Insurance Blog, spokesperson Dave Healey predicted a rather grim and authoritarian view of driving in the near future, with government controlled and privately funded remote and external traffic control mechanisms interacting with onboard cars systems to ensure an orderly controlled and planned future of motoring.

"The days of crash for cash are numbered as are those of the joy rider." stated Mr Healey

Mr Healey argues that recent innovations in onboard security systems render all new cars virtually theft proof, and that the only thefts of modern cars are through negligence with keys.

"The boffins at Thatcham who decide the insurance ratings groups for new cars on behalf of the ABI (Association of British Insurers) and the Car Insurance Companies, have known for a long time that people are being charged more for premiums than the risk warrants for theft." said Mr Healey.

"Despite all the talk about crash for cash and whiplash and solicitors referal fees being the cause of higher car insurance premiums, these are not the things that drivers as individuals are getting rated on when they compare car insurance quotes and covers. The main factor in the price that people are paying for their car insurance is where they live! Their Postcode, or to put it correctly the rate for their postcode theft area."

"This is just one example of where car insurance has yet to catch up with modern times".
